Kente Cloth, Adinkre Symbols and Beads...OH MY!

Although orientation is far from being over, I thought I would upload some photos of the arts and craft villages we visited during our trip to Kumasi.

Traditional clay beads, ancient Ghanaian coins (& current cedis) and mock Ashanti gold pendants.

Adinkre symbols are stamped onto many African prints/cloth. The ink is made from tree bark from the North. After being pounded and boiled for a week, the red bark eventually turns black.
